Update on Saturday

Just in case there were any interested, a brief conclusion in regards to my previous post mentioned Saturday.

It went.

No worries about trying to figure out what to say to people. Seems despite my asking and her promise not to, Ursel has been going around telling everyone.

Then later, she says to me, “So, when things are clearer you’ll be coming back?”

I guess the whole “I am moving to Vermont,” just can’t register there, though she did say in a chipper voice before I left, “Good luck with all your plans!”

Beyond that, no one else (three others) noticed as I walked out the door for the final time, my personals, things like tea and coffee cup carried in my hands, (Oh, and lets not forget a check for $44.39! Whoopee!) Started working there when I was 16 and I’ll be 38 come January, my last day of work and not even a wave as I walked out the door from this tight little group near close as family...birthdays, grandkids born and funerals gone to...

No matter, I’ve never had much use for “family” after all.

Man, I just want out. Am so tired of this place, of its people. Emile and I are both so exhausted, we have nothing more to give...thus the Takers no longer come. In other words, no one comes by anymore. Not a single person showed up for the meditation group. Last one of those as well I guess...

So, it is Tuesday, 4:30 am, and all I am going to say is that was just my Saturday. Oh, lots more I could write, yet nothing which would accomplish anything so why waste the effort?

Still, was some interesting stuff. Such as Monday morning, taking Timber out, I saw the front of the driveway was covered with broken glass. (Looked like a bomb dropped from above, the mess was covering a huge area.) So, I let him finish his little pee and then came back out with a dustpan while Emile slept. Thin glass vase with some flowers in it. Possibly some student dropped them and just walked away. Shame, that. Still, I cleaned up the glass, so I deserved to keep the small roses (Tea ones? Not certain, but they are a nice yellow-green,) I picked out, and they are in a new vase on a shelf. Something to look at while we are packing.

Lots to be seen in that little bit; the broken glass and abandoned roses, philosophy of varying natures, yet I will leave such to you to give it any effort. I’ve already got mine.

Last bit, the Trouble Makers are circling again. Sunday was nice, sunny, yet They were around, and thus we kept our activities inside. Wasted another day when I could have been working on the foundation. That week of solid rain really set us back...

The energies were so “tense” Emile brought Miss Jinx right back in and she was real miffed for being locked inside the house all day. Even closed the shop a bit early. No problem, not a single customer or call the whole day...and being alone in our house with the front doors unlocked on a quiet Sunday street while They built up their numbers and antagonisms...yeah, Emile made the right call there.

So much to do; just Emile and myself alone. I’m 37 and he’s 51, one would like to imagine that after all the years and things we’ve done for people in our lives, that there would be a single person come to help.

Ah well, nothing new there. My opinion of Humanity proved true yet again.

Good morning, World. Bring the day on, you bitch, we’re ready for ya. It is just life after all.

Cheers,

Melissa
